Klezmer Book Library

Our great friends the JMI have fronted some money so we can assemble a library of books which you can borrow to extend your knowledge of Klezmer and Eastern European music.

Where can I borrow them?

The library will be available at most of the the Events organised by us and listed in the What's On pages.

Sorry to non-players but borrowing books is primarily intended for players.

Don't forget your deposit!

The only way we came up with to stop the books from going missing is to require a refundable deposit of their approximate value before we let you take them away...

Henry Sapoznik
The Compleat Klezmer

Includes the accompanying CD...

Mark Slobin, Robert A. Rothstein, Michael Alpert (Editors)
Jewish Instrumental Folk Music: The Collections and Writings of Moshe Beregovski

"THE book to get"

Mark Slobin (Editor)
Old Jewish Folk Music: The Collections and Writings of Moshe Beregovski (Judaic Traditions in Literature, Music, and Art)

We thought this one would be worth a try too because the other one came so highly recommended...

Velvel Pasternak
Sephardic Oriental Songbook

But is this the right Sephardic Songbook?

Wolff Kostakowsky edited and arranged by Josh Horowitz
Ultimate Klezmer

Loadsandloads of tunes. One for a good sightreader to go through and recommend some for those whose reading is not so good...
