Shta'im Lecha'imShta'im
Lecha'im is a duo who specialise in authentic, traditional styles of performance,
playing without amplification to achieve the most 'intimate' sound, although for
larger-scale celebrations, the volume level can be boosted if required. Shta'im
Lecha'im want to make your event go as smoothly as possible.
Schalom/Bakhshayesh Duo A
fiddle and percussion duo in the old style. Renowned for recreating klezmer, the
traditional music of Jewish communities around eastern Europe, Spain and the Middle
East, they use violins, percussion and voice to take their audiences to a place
of relationship and song. They can do workshops as well
as perform! They have a CD called Shpil Klezmer available.
Ros Hawley
Clarinettist and performer Ros Hawley GRNCM; Ad Cert; PCS GSMD is available
to teach klezmer clarinet. Minnie Moosika

Sheffield
Spielers A klezmer band based in
Sheffield and available for engagements anywhere in the UK.
They play in combinations of clarinet, violin, flute, trumpet, bassoon and
guitar, and can also provide a leader to teach simple traditional dances, for
which people do not need any previous experience. The band normally plays acoustically
but can provide amplification if needed. Ilana
CravitzIlana is based in London but is
often to be seen in Manchester... she has done some good workshops for us and
is a fine performer.
Celtica Schmeltica Edinburgh's
foremost klezmer wedding band. We play for all social occasions and provide a
mix of klezmer, Israeli dances, and Scottish too. We enjoy the old eastern European
string sound - as it once might have been heard. we are: Gica Loening -
fiddle, Jenny Gardner - fiddle, Nick Loening - cello, Lynn Sampsell - double bass Some
of you may have met Klezmik; this band is generally unavailable for gigs at present.
